Please note: VRCA’s Infrastructure Series is held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, 3.30-5.00 p.m., and will be offered on a complimentary basis while the ban on mass gatherings is in place.
VRCA is partnering with Metro Vancouver to present the next event in its member-exclusive Infrastructure Series, designed specifically to provide large procurers of construction with an opportunity to share details of their capital and maintenance programs, upcoming projects and how to access the bidding opportunities.
About Metro Vancouver:
Metro Vancouver is a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation. Its members work collaboratively in planning and providing vital utility and local government services to 2.7 million people. Every day, it delivers wholesale regional utility services like drinking water, liquid waste treatment and solid waste management. It also provides services like air quality regulation and monitoring, regional planning, parks and affordable housing.
Ensuring its infrastructure, ecosystems, and communities are resilient to the impacts of climate change and achieving a carbon neutral region by 2050 underlies Metro Vancouver’s leadership and commitment to addressing climate change.
Over the next five years, Metro Vancouver will make significant investments in sewer, water and solid waste infrastructure, largely driven by the growing population and necessary upgrades to ensure our assets meet regulatory standards and are resilient to earthquakes and climate change. From 2020 to 2024, Metro Vancouver projects a capital budget of over $6 billion to build, maintain and upgrade its infrastructure.
