Advance Steel detailing software is built on the AutoCAD platform. Structural engineering professionals use the software to help accelerate design, steel detailing, steel fabrication, and steel construction. This course provides an overview of the user interface, an introduction to the methodology and workflow in Advance Steel, and best practices for working with files.
To get the most out of this course, we strongly recommend you review every topic in the course. We also encourage you to take all the mid-lecture quizzes and the progress tests to ensure you have retained the information, and most importantly, practice with the Let Me Try exercises.

We recommend that you use the most current version of these browsers. Other browsers, and some earlier versions of these browsers may be supported, but you may experience some limitations on certain Learning Management System or course functions.
Beginners: Complete the course in order from beginning to end. Once any topic is completed, you will have full access to it at any time to use as a resource, for one year after registration.
Intermediate/Advanced Users: Use the course as a flexible resource tool to find what you need, whenever you need it. Try the assessment tests first, if you get 80%+ you can move to the next level, if you get less than 80% you should complete the lecture. This gives you a pre and post assessment score, which can be used to track your skills improvement.
Once you register for a course, you will receive an email with instructions and a pin number within 24 hours of registration. After which, you can begin the course at any time. Please note hours of operation in the Education department are Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. All registrations received after hours will be processed the next business day.
